The Brief
Build a fleet management SaaS platform from zero — no existing codebase, no existing design system, no existing infrastructure. Full ownership from product definition through delivery.
My Role
- Full product management ownership: backlog, priorities, and stakeholder sign-off
- Budget accountability for the entire platform build
- Architecture and technology selection: React, TypeScript, GCP
- Design system built from scratch: Figma Token Studio to code sync for design-to-development efficiency
- Accessible dashboard components built to WCAG standards from day one
The Design System
A key investment was building the design system before writing application code. Using Figma Token Studio for the design side and a code-side token pipeline, we created a single source of truth for all design decisions — colours, typography, spacing, component variants.
This paid dividends immediately: when the brand evolved mid-build, we updated the tokens and the entire application updated automatically.
